Helium Networks Launches Cost-Effective Wireless LAN Starter Training Package
First Training Session, Held November 10-11, 2005, Free to Wireless Recon (TM)
Customers
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 31, 2005 - Helium Networks
(http://www.heliumnetworks.com), a leading provider of wireless LAN (WLAN)
site survey, design and maintenance products, announces the launch of its new
WLAN starter package, which includes a series of quarterly RF site survey
training classes to customers of the Wireless Recon system. The first session,
"WLAN Site Surveys Using Wireless Recon," will be held November 10-11 at
Spring Hill Suites (by the Marriott Hotel) in Pittsburgh. The trainer is Jim
Geier, an internationally recognized wireless LAN technology consultant and
writer.
The training session consists of a free, one-seat per day and a half
training class worth $1,500 with the purchase of Helium Networks' Wireless
Recon unit. While the training material is customized for RF site surveys
using Helium's Wireless Recon tool, it covers the basics of conducting a
professional wireless site survey, including the goals of a RF site survey,
understanding and verifying Wireless LAN Requirements; defining test
requirements; preparing for a site survey; a step-by-step procedure of
conducting a site survey; and analyses of the survey data and documentation of
the survey results.
The package provides a cost-effective solution to IT professionals and
systems integrators who want hands-on knowledge and tools to start to
efficiently design and maintain enterprise WLANs. Specifically, the training
prepares an IT professional to conduct an entry-level RF site survey necessary
to initially analyze coverage patterns and determine the optimum placement of
access points for maximum coverage and performance.
"Enterprise Wireless LAN deployments today are expected to reliably
support a large number of roaming users and mission-critical applications,
including VoWLAN over extensive coverage areas," said Chintu Parikh, CEO of
Helium Networks. "An unreliable and interference-ridden WLAN coverage could
prevent network connectivity, limit network capacity, or cause dropped network
connections leading to thousands of dollars in lost employee productive time,
and in many cases, potential disruption of an organization's operation. Most
IT professionals and network systems integrators are seeking training and
tools to help them efficiently conduct site surveys for designing and managing
the wireless networks. This training, along with the Wireless Recon tool,
provides a cost-effective solution to their needs."
